Developed with Clinical Voice Expertise

VitaVoice was created by a leading Clinical Voice Specialist with over 25 years of experience supporting singers, actors, teachers and professional voice users across the NHS, private practice and the performing arts. As an Honorary Lecturer in Voice at Birmingham City University and a contributor to national research (including the Singers’ Endoscopy Protocol), she brings deep clinical insight into the real contributing factors behind many people’s vocal fatigue and strain.

Through decades of treating voice disorders, she repeatedly saw the same issues affecting performance and recovery: chronic inflammation, immune vulnerability, fatigue, stress and slow vocal recovery. Research and discussions with other voice clinicians supported these findings, and VitaVoice was developed specifically to address these challenges, offering a supportive, evidence-informed supplement for vocal resilience.

Hear about the origins of VitaVoice from Scott Garrett, one of our founders.

Carrie and I have been performing since our teens, all while pursuing our own parallel careers in music education, clinical voice care and singing. But as life got busier, especially with young kids, we realised that eating the right foods consistently wasn’t always realistic.

During the pandemic, when energy and mental clarity were essential just to manage day-to-day, we became increasingly focused on health, self-care, and preventative approaches to well-being. That’s when nutrition and supplementation became an important part of supporting our own health.

Scott was particularly inspired by the benefits he had experienced from regularly using Lion’s Mane Mushroom and had been promoting it to everyone he knew. He suggested to Carrie the idea of forming a supplementation company to promote what we had found to other musicians. Having spent over a decade by this time working as a clinical voice specialist in the NHS Carrie brought in her experience around the wider impact of ill-health, stress and inflammation on the voice specifically, and the idea for VitaVoice was born!

Scott then brought in Jack, a long-time business partner and expert in strategy. Over the next two years, we researched what the ideal supplement should look like, drawing on scientific evidence, consultations with nutritionists, manufacturers, and other health practitioners. The goal was to create an optimal formula that supports the voice, body, and mind.

Our approach also aligns with two major well-being approaches:

  • Mental Health & Stress Resilience: Growing awareness around mental health has accelerated interest in adaptogens and nootropics, ingredients that help support cognitive function, focus, and stress management.
  • Sustainability & Transparency: Consumers increasingly expect honesty about ingredients, sourcing, and manufacturing, values we’ve built into VitaVoice from the start.

We are a family-run business committed to using high-quality, responsibly sourced natural ingredients. In just two years, VitaVoice has been showcased at major conferences and exhibitions, featured on leading voice-related podcasts and media, and is now sold across the UK and internationally, including the USA, Germany, and New Zealand. Today, VitaVoice is trusted by a growing community of professional voice users, from major soap actors and West End performers to a couple of legendary rock icons.
